Importing pst problem into Outlook 2013

Hi - I'm having an issue importing a pst file into Outlook 2013 - what happens is, when i go thru the steps of importing, it asks what account you want to import the file into, I do that correctly (as i have with previous versions) and the pst file im importing is showing up in outlook as a separate data file. For example, on the right in outlook, up at the top will show the email address, and in the middle, it shows "outlook data file". This wouldnt be so bad, but there are 50 folders in the inbox, and it doesnt seem to like me copying the entire inbox over to email address (versus the outlook data file) - it wont overwrite it, and adds it as "inbox (2)". Typically, when i've gone thru the import process, and it asks me what account you want to import it to and you choose the mailbox, when it imports it will go directly into the mailbox, instead of creating another outlook data file. Anyone know how to correct this? Am i doing something wrong because 2013 is different?

Any help would be appreciated.

That's what I thought too! There ended up being a software issue with the installation with Office 2013.
