galaxy s4 incoming emails not updating

Hi Experts

I have checked all the phone and syn setting and read all the forums and I still cannot get my in box on the mail icon to update...keeps on saying last synd yesterday 19:27pm..

What am I missing..

What type of email account is it? Exchange (corporate) or IMAP, POP3 etc.
Also do you have permanen internet connection? Does have you some installed app for savin battery for example which cuts the internet connection or syncing when phone is not used?

Pop3 yahoo account. ..working perfectly fine until yesterday. ..on the net 24hours a day.
