Office 365 - Hosted Exchange - Count question

With the Enterprise plans for Hosted Email, how do aliases factor in when counting mailboxes? i.e. If your receptionist also got email for 'contact@company.com' and 'resumes@company.com', is that one mailbox, or three (from a billing/subscription point of view)?

Exchange licenses are based on the number of mailboxes that can be directly signed into.  You may have shared mailboxes delegated to sign-in users, and aliases for existing and shared boxes, but the only licenses are per-user signing into exchange.

your generic accounts like hr@comp.com and info@comp.com can exist as shared mailboxes, and you then delegate "joe@comp.com" read and send-as permissions.  As long as "Joe" has his own mailbox and sign in, this is still only one license.
