sbs 2011 / exchange 2010 (and maybe others?)  What's 'result of an earlier callout reused' mean

I did 'something' to our sbs 2011 / exchange 2010 server and now incoming mail bounces after getting to our spam filtering service with this message:

Connected to [x.y.z.a] but recipient was rejected. STARTTLS proto=TLSv1; cipher=DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA.
Remote host said: 550 (result of an earlier callout reused).

the remote host is the exchange server I guess?

never heard of that result of an earlier callout reused message and google is not much help at all.

we get that bounce back when sending from different domains that worked earlier and gmail accounts

you mentioned a spam filtering service? is this another server that checks your mail before it gets to your exchange server.  or is this spam filtering software on your sbs machine?

outside service.  they did 'something'

(they said:  The gateway (their outside spam filtering server) caches the results of the call outs. I cleared the cache and the test to steve worked.)

and now it's working.. but curious what that message means / what would you say based on it being an outside service.

Yep if the spam filter receives your mall first the the error is a misconfig with their mail server. Exactly I am not sure, looks like a general failure. Glad it's working for u now
