Server Manager has stopped working. Problem Event Name: CLR20r2.
Hello everybody
We have a Windows 2012 R2 RDS Server, this server is also a DC.
This happend after an unkown task (may be an installation or update (No Windows updates) on the system)
We can't open the Server Manager and many other administrative tools (Event Viewer included). All user files were doubled with "_prior" at the end of the document name as you can see on the screenshot.
Error messages:
Server Manager has stopped working. Problem Event Name: CLR20r2.
Event Viewer: MMC could not create snap-in.
We exported the logs from Event Viewer:
3008
A configuration error has occurred.

Boot into Safe Mode and see if it still crashes. If that works, load msconfig and launch with just the bare minimum for startup in regular mode and see if it still crashes. If that works, you can bet it was an update or third party installation. Post back results for futher troubleshooting.
Also,if the above doesn't work, try booting into Safe Mode then running SFC /SCANNOW from a Command Prompt, then try rebooting and launching Server Manager.
