Exchange 2010 AutoArchive Aging Rule

Outlook has AutoArchive functionality, which allows the option to delete old items after a specified # of days.  Does Exchange have this functionality as well.  We would like to have this enforced on everyone's mailbox, but not everyone uses Outlook.  Are there any Exchange-side rules or functionality to achieve this, without having to enable the Exchange Personal Archive.

Exchange 2010 has retention policy and tags.  This is under Org config>Mailbox.

You have a lot of options inside here to deletion and retention.

Thanks, but does this require the Archive Mailbox to be enabled, or no?

No it does not.  You are looking at using the deletion tag, so this will just comab the mailbox for anything older that x and follow your rule.

Create a test retention policy, add your delete tag configured to say 1 day.  Create a test user and assign your test policy, the make sure it acts as you wish it to.  Remember you will have to add mail items to your test users.
