It is possible that the file you are trying to upload is corrupt or too large. copy it to a memory stick and see if you can upload it from another computer. Or there may be server problems on the server you are trying to upload the file to.

Thanks for that.  Maybe I did not explain correctly.  As I click on the browse button to go and look for a file it is at that stage the file dialog box that allows you to look for a file on my computer does not work and the browser session hangs.

Are you the only user who logs on to this computer (only one login name for this computer)? Is this computer a part of the network, or is it a personal computer that you log on locally?

One thing you might try is to click the windows icon, then in windows xp click run, windows 7 just start typing. Type cmd press enter. then in the dos window you want to type SFC /scannow press enter. You may be able to get away without your windows discs, but may get a prompt insert your operating system disc. Once the system file checker has finished running, reboot the computer.

Hello, Sorry did not get back.  What I did was remove and reinstall all my browsers and that seems to have fixed the problem.  I did this before trying your suggestions so not sure if they would have worked as the problem has gone(hopefully for good).  I would like to award the points to you for your input
Thanks
