servlet termnology

Hi,

I was reading about servlet terminology(http://www.javatpoint.com/servlet-terminology)


    HTTP
    HTTP Request Types
    Difference between Get and Post method
    Container
    Server and Difference between web server and application server
    Content Type
    Introduction of XML
    Deployment


None of the terminology is directly related to servlet right except that servlet deployed/ run on web server container. And the UI (html/jsp page) sends request and gets repsinse using Get and Post etc methods.

please advise
Any links resources ideas highly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Servlet is designed for Web. So it has to support HTTP , GET /  POST methods, Browser Requests (Client).

In fact XML is combined because of servlets configuration and you can extend to use for transferring the details
