An object of ServletRequest is used to provide the client request information to a servlet such as content type, content length, parameter names and values, header informations, attributes etc

I was reading as above. i wonder how the content length, header information, attributes comes under client request information(which is passed to servlet).

The servlet container is what receives the incoming packets of data (via the network) from the client (say a web browser). So it reads these packets to get the "content type, content length, parameter names and values, header informations, attributes" details, then it creates an object (Servlet Request, or more precisely, an object that implements ServletRequest) and populates this object with all these details that came from the incoming data packets. Finally, that object gets passed to the configured servlet, for it to do whatever it needs to do.

Does that clear things up for you?
