It has long been possible to insert a Flash video into a PP presentation and play it. With HTML5 replacing Flash on websites, can HTML5 be used within PP?

Not the way you can Flash. But you could use something like LiveWeb to play a webpage live on a slide. http://skp.mvps.org/liveweb.htm#.UzQu8vldV8E
