Experts,

I am looking for advise, This is what I want to be able to do let me know if it's possible along with solution:

1. I have 1 server dedicated as a backup server
2. I have 4 servers that need to be backed up
3. I want to be able to do a bare metal backup of each server to the backup server
4. I want to be able to do 15 minute increment snapshots of my 4 servers
5. I want to then synchronize to a USB device to take off site.

Is this possible?
Thanks!

This is definitely possible. We use Shadow Protect:

http://www.storagecraft.com.au/

You can set up a backup job on each server to do continuous incremental backups every 15 minutes to the storage on your backup server.

The Image Manager product will replicate to USB which you can take offsite.

The recovery CD will allow you to do a bare metal restore to physical hardware or to a virtual machine.

Andrew,

Using Veeam, what do I need to do first?

Should I install the enterprise Manager for the Backup server and the 4 servers do I just install backup & replication?

How do I make this work?

Thanks

You download Veeam Backup and Replication from here:-

http://www.veeam.com/vmware-esx-backup.html

You just install the entire product. Then start it up, follow the wizard and create a Backup Job.

It's Agentless, nothing is installed on the Servers to Backup?

These are Virtual Servers on VMware or Hyper-V ?

I'm sorry, No the 4 server I want to backup are physical machines. I would like to replicate them to a vm but not sure how to make it work.

Thanks!

Veeam Backup and Replication is for virtual servers only.

You will need to look at Storagecraft or Double Take Products.
