We just demoted/ uninstalled exchange 2007 and now email is not flowing in or out.  The sent mail is just sitting in my outbox and not going out to  the server.

do  you have your firewall and mx records setup correctly or does it still point to the 2007 server?

I called MS and got support.  They removed the seconded DNS server so it was justing using 1 not 2 and it all started working again.
