'This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists...'

Hi experts

Some customers are having trouble in installing my msi package.

The error message says 'This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package'.
The customers' PCs are Windows 7, 64-bit. This same trouble repeated in several PCs of his.

But I have the same OS and PC settings, everything was fine.

One of the internet articles suggest that the Windows Installer service might be disabled.
Then some articles suggest that it was a privilege issue but then some people said that they still have the same issues despite having administrative right.

Could someone point to me the right direction please. thanks.

Is the msi package being stored on a network share or is it copied on the clients computer?

Thanks mlsbraves for your prompt response.

I am not sure as I didn't have direct contact with customers. But I was told that the customer had tried to install it in a number of his PCs and had the same problem.
I understand installing from network share drive can have issue. Do you know, by any chance, how about installing from USB memory stick?

Thanks to both of you.
The installation file was downloaded online. I presume the client might have run the installer directly from a local drive without any change in the name.

I will ask the client to confirm:
1. Downloading it again and run it from a local drive.
2. Make sure he has got administrative rights.
3. Make sure the 'Windows Installer Service' is enabled.
if it was downloaded, have it also unblocked, just in case.
Thank you to both of you. Much appreciated.
