Can you logon to the appliance, and rollback a checkpoint ?

bmclambAuthor Commented:
I lost 3 days of backups which was expected since last good integrity check was 3 days ago, but the rollback fixed the integrity issue.  Thank you for the prompt response!

The rollback got me to a good Integrity Check however, the next check failed with the same error.

We've had this issue occur, (twice now) when our repository started to get 75% full, and no matter what we did, did we recover.

So what we did, was create a new repository, restore ALL the VMs, that were archived in the repo, then backup all the current VMs to the new repo, and ditch the old repo.

otherwise, you will need to help of EMC Storage Engineer (via VMware Support), to investigate the repo database issues.

Thank you Andrew.  This is a new deployment so we shouldn't be experiencing these types of issues already.

Don't be too sure, the repo can get easily corrupted!

To follow up...after working with EMC it was a stripe failure.  EMC repaired the stripes.  It's happened again twice with no explanation why.  No bueno!

VMware VDP is not as robust as it should be. (same was true of VDR). It would seem VMware Backup is still running 10th place to Veeam, Unitrends, AppAssure, Naiko, which are good products, and this is not a VMware product, it's EMC! (based on Avamare!)
