Create a portable quickbooks file

Hello, I am trying to create a quick book portable file and I am getting this error( You may not have suffient permissions to create a portable company file from this computer Please try creating the portable file from the server : Accounting -WS

Do I need to get on the server and create the file?

Are you creating the portable file from the local computer (company data file on local computer)?  or are you using the company file on the server (multi user).

Assuming the later, go into Single User mode, be sure you are the QuickBooks administrator and then try again to create the portable file.
