Exchange 2010 to Office 365 Migration

Hi all
I little guidance here.
Scenario:
Exchange 2010 SP3
<100 users
Migrated successfully to O365 using Cut-over migration.
Implemented dirsync 2.0 with password sync
Everything is ok mailboxes have licenses users outlook have been reconfigured...
BUT
now to remove onprem exchange 2010 the databases must be emptied.

cannot run remove-mailbox as this removes the ad object and this is undesired
cannot run disable-mailbox as this removes the email attributes like email, proxyaddresses and other info.

Currently the Exchange services are running but I ran set-casmailbox and set them all to $false.

There is no convert on-premises mailboxes to mail-enabled users for exchange 2010 so how is this done manually?
