Expand HP RAID 5 Array

I have a HP Proliant server with a P410i raid card with a BBWC. There are 3 x 500GB drives in RAID 5. If I was to swap the 3 x 500GB drives (one at a time) with 3 x 2TB drives would I be able to expand the capacity.. then afterwards extend the logical drive?

Thanks

Yes if you have the software.

Once you replace all drives it will still see the size of the old array.

you can then expand the capacity, but you will then need Partition magic or the like.

if you are lucky you can use the HP partition software

I did the same for a client recently.

Changed disks 1 by 1 and let them build.

Then used HP array config utility to expand.

Then used easus software to change sizes.

Worked a charm

you can use the free easus software, but I have done this before and it had to remove permissions on folder, so be aware of that one

Great.. wasn't sure if I'd be stuck with 3 x 2TB with only 500GB on each available.

Thanks again..
