Trial version Windows Server 2012

I have installed the trial version of Windows Server 2012, can I upgrade this to R2 trial version? Also, the plan will be to purchase after we've tested our application. Will I be able to install an open license key in the trial version?

Hi,

In-place upgrades from 32-bit to 64-bit architectures are not supported. All editions of Windows Server 2012 R2 are 64-bit only.

You can install 180 days trail version of 2012 R2 on an another server and transfer the data/roles etc to this server? will that be feasible?

Not doing an upgrade of anything, this a fresh install. I've already installed Windows Server 2012 trial, I just want to go to R2. There's nothing to transfer this is not a production server yet.
You will just need a trail key for Server 2012 R2.

I had to call Microsoft to resolve this issue.
