Removal of optional windows updates

By mistake I installed the optional windows update of a Bluetooth card on my notebook. Now the Bluetooth card does not work and I really dont want to redo the entire OS. Is there a way to remove this optional windows update? Im running winodws 8.1

Open device manager and roll back the driver.

That did not work. I had to reinstall the OS as Microsoft told me you cannot remove optional updates,
I've requested that this question be closed as follows:

I know the rollback driver feature works. I'm guessing I came across one of those updates that was not reversible
