I want links to open in new window so users stay on my site.

If you check the Option "Link Target" in  "Screen Options" then you have Checkbox Option:
"Open link in a new window/tab".
Assumes you are on Edit Menus Page.

- The Screen Options pull down tab is located in the upper right corner of your Dashboard.
