Backup Exec 11d - successful jobs not available in restore selection

I'm backing up data using BE 11d on a Win2K3 Server

Job monitor status is successful and the byte count is as I'd expect it to be.
However, when i attempt to restore a backup for example from last nights successful backup job - the backup is not listed in the restore selection - in fact the last one available is from about three weeks ago and please note I have no exclusions for dates in the Restore job properties.

Needless to say, this is a matter of some concern - any suggestions why this might be occurring?  Thanks

If I run a catalog job it's successful but the Byte count is 0 and the Job History reports --

Catalog - no backup sets found

The main reason I can think of is your overwrite period. BE knows if it overwrites a tape. Therefore, if you are recycling tapes and do not have an adequate overwrite protection period set, the data is not available. BE is smart enough (keeps track) of what it does with each tape.
