I have few questions about Google Map API. Please help me to understand better.  After reading this article, http://www.experts-exchange.com/Programming/Languages/Scripting/PHP/A_3350-Using-the-Google-Maps-API-in-PHP.html

I think I have to use Google Static map from here, https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/staticmaps/?csw=1

My questions are,
1) What about this URL, https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/tutorial

2) Using static map, Can I display the dynamic address with custom marker as per my customization?

Please clarify.

The article you cited by Ray Paseur describes a method using PHP to dynamically generate the <img> tag for you static map. You plug in the parameters and the code generates an image tag similar to this:

<img border="0" src="//maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/staticmap?center=Brooklyn+Bridge,New+York,NY&zoom=13&size=600x300&maptype=roadmap&markers=color:blue%7Clabel:S%7C40.702147,-74.015794&markers=color:green%7Clabel:G%7C40.711614,-74.012318&markers=color:red%7Clabel:C%7C40.718217,-73.998284&sensor=false" alt="Points of Interest in Lower Manhattan" />

It's use on a web site would be as described in the developers.google.com link you provided next.

For question 1.) The cited link is to a developers.google.com page that describes how to use the Maps API to generate a map with javascript. This is a completely different way of getting a map, unrelated to the static map method which does not require javascript.

For question 2.) Can you display the dynamic address? Certainly. How do you want to display it? On the map, above the map?
