Customizing the sender name in an email - How is it done?

I'm looking at the metadata associated with an email from Amazon. The From reads as follows:

From: MICROCOM TECHNOLOGY - Amazon Marketplace <1kgbkz441sxps9p@marketplace.amazon.com>

Let's say I want all my outgoing emails to appear as "jdana the amazing one" as opposed to jdana@yahoo.com (fictitious email). How would I configure my email client (Outlook, iOS Email Client, Yahoo web-based email client...) to include the following in each outgoing email:

From: jdana the amazing one <jdana@yahoo.com>

Any email program allows you to change it. To keep it simple, it's just called Name or Display Name inside the program (near where you fill in the email address)
