Hey guys,
So every now and again I will make a report as i always do and my prompts will not show when the report is run within Sage(but they do when its run in crystal).

In the past I have just made new parameters and it worked this time no dice.

any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

Does the report run?

WHat happens if you refresh the report?

I assume you put the parameters in the report somewhere like the selection filter.

yes i put the parameters in the Selection expert and when you refresh the report in Crystal it requests the parameters but when you run in Sage it runs the report with the last used parameter from crystal without prompting  if that makes sense

When viewing from Sage can you refresh?  Does it prompt then?

What version of Crystal?

i am using Crystal reports XI release 2 for sage, and when i am in sage and run the report I do not see a refresh option.
This is the Selection expert code

{WRKORDER.QPM} = "Y" and
{WRKORDER.SCHEDDATE} = {?Date} and
{WRKORDER.ARCUST} = {?CustomerID} and
{TIMESTMP.STATUS} = 70

I am not familiar with the Sage Interface.

DO you enter values in the interface before clicking to run the report?

Does it pick up the values based on a selected record?

When a report is loaded to Sage, is there an option to turn parameter prompting on?

I have several dozen reports running in sage that are built in crystal I believe this is a bug in the version of crystal i am using.

When in Sage you choose the report you want to run from a drop down. the report runs and if their are any prompts built into the selection expert then it will pop up and request them. there is no interface to turn on or off the parameter prompting. either the report has a prompt or it doesnt.

the problem is that instead of it running the report fresh and asking for parameters it is running the preview that i have in my report. any parameter I chose in Crystal report while designing it is the sage data it passes to sage. its very odd and happens very seldom

I just closed the preview then saved the RPT and it worked... that was odd

I'm not familiar with Sage, so this is really a shot in the dark, but when you open that report in CR and look under File, is "Save data with report" checked?  If so, then I would guess that Sage is just using the saved data, so it doesn't ask for parameter values.  And, in that scenario, I would guess that when you closed the Preview window, you also removed the saved data, so Sage had to use the parameters to get new data.

I've never used saved data with reports, so I'm just guessing that closing the Preview might remove the saved data.

there was nothing wrong only the preview needed to be closed before saving
