Hi,

I am looking for a cloud-based hosted SharePoint solution for a project.

The requirements are:

Lists - can be programmatically processed from the client-side ( functions include create, delete, upload, download, update etc ).
Program code: SOAP (object-access protocol ) via Office 2010 VBA, C# and Objective-C

I am familiar with an option ( Option A ), and it has the following features that fits the above requirements:
Option A
-Disk Space       up to 3.0 GB
-SharePoint Users      up to 100
-Free Same day setup
-Unlimited Sub-sites
-Unlimited Traffic
-SSL-VPN
Pricing structure: below US$80 per month.

For the project in question, the requirement(s) would be slightly more robust and includes the following consideration:
- data storage i.e. security and compliance, reputation of hosting entity
- fail-over capability
- uptime

It has been suggested that Windows Azure is a solution to consider. I have done a research on the offerings but am not able to seek out an appropriate package.

I would appreciate it very much your assistance in seeking out a specific package that fits the above requirements, in the price range indicated.

Thank you.

I think your best bet is to use microsoft directly via office365 http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/business/what-is-office-365-for-business-FX102997580.aspx

I wouldn't go by the pricing on the site.  I found they have a lot more pricing structures if you ask.

Thank you for the reply. I viewed the link as suggested and noticed that the apps are mostly that of MS Office i.e. Office 365 Small Business, Office 365  Small Business Premium and Office 365  Midsize Business. I could not find a plan that offers even the foundation level of SharePoint .

Would you be so kind to point out which package provides for this.

Presently the users will be using MS Office 2010, installed on their laptops.

Thank you.

Sharepoint is included.  And as I mentioned, I found out there are more plans available that are not on the site.  You need to contact MS.  Even when you start a demo plan, you are assigned a team to help you that is based on their shift.  So if you always contact help at about the same time frame, you will always get the same team.

Office365 includes sharepoint.  A quick google search and I found this http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/sharepoint-online-online-collaboration-software-FX103789366.aspx and http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/collaboration-tools-compare-sharepoint-plans-FX103789400.aspx

Looks like the starting plan is $3 per month per user. I would say it is still worth it to start the demo at least, contact sales and see if they can do anything for you.  For 100 users, I wouldn't quibble about $80 vs $100 per month though if they can't do anything.

I have looked at other hosted services and I have only found them to be more expensive.

Good luck!
