How to automatically daily update SP list items?

I have created a SPD workflow that checks the "modified" date in a SP 2010 list, and I want now to get the list items auto-update every day.
Is it possible within a webpart? Or with another solution?

Normally a sharepoint workflow requires some human interaction in order for it to fire (item updated, added etc)
You could have your workflow run, pause for 24 hours, run, pause for 24 hours etc.
Not very elegant though.

Your other option is to create your own timer service job and have it run daily.
This will require coding though... and not in sharepoint designer
