Hi all,

I've run into an issue at a client that I can't seem to find any info on.  They recently purchased new machines running Windows 7 (64) with Outlook 2013.  If they try to use the search function, they can type numbers or paste text, but they cannot type text using the keyboard.  The first machine we discovered this on suddenly (and inexplicitly) started working before I could figure out what the cause was.  Now we have a second machine with the same problem.  I'm hoping someone here can shed some light onto what may be going on.

Thanks,
Angeg

Try running Outlook in safe more, see if it makes a difference. Check the indexing options as well, though they shouldn't really matter in this scenario.

I've never seen this before but I would start with simple steps first.  Check and disable any com or exchange addins.  Make sure you have the latest office / windows updates and service packs.

Is it only that user profile / computer?  See if turning off cached exchange mode vs online mode makes a difference.

Didn't mean to abandon this, just got busy with other things and completely forgot about it.  Never did get a resolution... the eu ended up reinstalling Outlook and after that, everything was fine.
