I have a Crystal line chart where I want the data to be based on daily counts but I only want the legend to show weekly dates.  I have 6 months of data in the chart and the dates run together in the legend.

You have to set the date group options

Open the report
Right click the chart
Click CHART EXPERT
Select the DATA Tab
Select the date field in the box
Click the GROUP OPTIONS button
Change the period to be FOR EACH WEEK

But this gives me weekly data also.  I want daily data (400 calls on each point) but I only want the legend  to show a date once a week (not 1100 calls on each point).

Try this and see if it helps

Open the report
Click on the chart
Click on one of the dates -  it should highlight
Right Click on the date
Click Group (X) Axis Options
Set the SKIP GROUP LABELS option to 5
Click OK
Now you should see only every 5th label.

You may need to use a different number to skip to get it to look the way you want.
