WordPress Website Setup

We currently have a website that is being hosted with Fat Cow web hosting.  We have an MX Record directing the email to Google Apps for NonProfits.  The current website is being changed over to a WordPress website that was created by another company.  I have been told that I can create an A record with our current web hoster using the IP Address from WordPress and that everything should work correctly.  I'm wondering if this is the correct way to go.  Also where do I find the WordPress IP Address?

Thank you in advance

You would simply ask the company that created the wordpress site what IP address the new site is located at.   For example the new site is at 40.40.40.40

Armed with that information, login to your Fat Cow web hosting account and access the DNS management portion of the domain in question.   It will already have an "A" record that points to another IP address.  For example 50.50.50.50

Change all instances of 50.50.50.50 to 40.40.40.40 and save the DNS record.   Don't touch your MX records, that has nothing to do with your website address if you're using google hosted services.

Thank you for the information.  I'm wondering if you can tell me where in wordpress to find the IP address?  The company that built the website can't seem to locate it.
