Add Rich Text Editor to WordPress 3.9 User Biography field

I had been using the Rich Text Biography plug-in http://wordpress.org/plugins/rich-text-biography/ to replace the standard User Biography textarea field with WordPress' built-in Tiny MCE Editor. It appears that at least as of WordPress 3.9, this no longer works.

Does anyone have some guidance for adding the Tiny MCE editor back to the User Biography field?

Looks like support stopped for that plugin,

As an alternative people have been switching to,

This plugin also uses TinyMCE

Although this plugin page states that it hasn't been updated in 2 years, it hasn't needed an update. It is compatible with the latest Wordpress.

I installed the Visual Biography Editor plugin, and it appears to not be fully lading (see VisualBiographyEditor.png screen capture).

Thanks again for getting back with me so quickly. I installed the TinyMCE Advanced 4.0.1 plug-in and confirmed that my configuration noted in your message matches mine. I am unable to use the visual editor, however, I do get "some" editor options when using the Text option.

However, in Visual Mode, I see what is displayed in the screen capture from my previous comment

The solution that you provided was spot on. Installing Visual Biography Editor 1.4 resolved the Biography Editing issue. The issue I was seeing was caused by some code in functions.php that was left over from another potential solution I tried earlier today.
