How can I resolve the issue in which my Android successfully plays music from itself to the Aux port using a bluetooth adapter but any equalizer settings I make do not adjust the wireless connection.

Do you mean that the Andriods equalizer settings ie. increased base are not being recognised by the car stereo?
Please give more details including make / model numbers of the Andriod & car stereo.

I can't get any bass whether I change audio settings on my phone nor the car.

That sounds strange...

Can you get bass from the car stereo via CD, DVD, radio, another audio device connected to it?
If not then maybe your speakers do not output the bass that you want / expect to hear.

Discovered that bluetooth (at least the bluetooth external adapter) for the car plugged into an aux port, strips all audio properties such as bass, treble, etc.  from the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Even when the audio properties are then changed on the internal stereo of the car, the bass, treble, etc. remain  at 0 even though they had been bumped to 10 (which is the max).

Did the guess work and troubleshooted with bluetooth piece, car, and phone to find that the bluetooth adapter strips the audio properties.
