Hi Friends,

I have a OOTB web app, site collection on intranet using SharePoint 2010 on win 2k8 servers.

This is a 2 front end, 2 app servers, 1 index server farm.

May i get a lead on how to push this existing intranet faced web app / site collection on internet so that a few non company ppl can view the data

You must extend the web app to enable connection via the internet zone.  See here:
http://www.techbiswas.com/2011/03/extending-web-application-in-sharepoint_12.html

It's up to you how you secure it but a common technique is to use forms based authentication for this web app (2007 link but still relevant: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff648385.aspx).

Thanks Colly92002.

Extending web app is fine.
Do we need to use FBA only, how abt DMZ ?

For me,
confusing part is to understand these concepts, i am looking for some more light on these concepts. I did went through lot of web blogs but nothing is clearer so as to understand from basic.
