Excel 2013 Opens and you are able to see the ribbon and a grey background but no actual document appears
Since upgrading to office 2013 from office 2007/2010 I have to open all Excel documents by opening Excel and then dragging and dropping documents in to the open Excel window, so am unable to open Excel documents by double clicking on them in Windows explorer.
We have tried to solve the problem in various different ways which include:
• Putting a tick in the ‘Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)’ and then edited the registry.
• Opening the document and checking that the hide option isn’t selected (View > hide)
• Removing Abby fine print
• Completing a quick and online repair.
• Compatibility/safe mode
• CCleaner
The documents can be opened on other machines, so I have moved a document over to the machine that excel works on and opens fine. I then saved the document as an excel workbook and moved it back to the machine that excel don’t work and does the same thing.
I have also tried everything on this feed https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/28278383/Excel-2013-Can't-Open-Workbooks-Created-With-Older-Version.html with no luck.

Have you tried disabling all add-ins and making sure your XLSTART folder is empty?
