Hi,

I´ve a catalyst switch with one supervisor and running. I purchased a new supervisor  in order to set up HA.

I inserted the new one and the light started blinking.... and blinking (I´m talking about the light of the 2nd supervisor) and also the CF light too.

After some hours, the situation was the same and I can not use Cisco Works -> administration-> chasis view to  handle the switch... only ssh connection.

Any idea?

regards

The switch is not recognizing the new supervisor.

Can you pull it out and put it back in again?

The one in slot 5 is the new sup, right?

Also need the model number for the new sup.

HI,

Could be a CF error or bad file inside it? I say this because the switch stops starting and the CF is reading all the time and all lights are red/orange

A strange thing....

When I tried to  pull it out, before this, I checked the lights an were ok, except de ACTIVE light. This is correct because the supervisor is in a passive mode.

But!!! 2 seconds later  without pulling it out, the supervisor rebooted and start reading the CF.

Maybe a chassis failure? I did not pull it out because was restarting.

Any idea?

No, I think you have a bad sup.

But try to re-seat it and it works sometimes.

I´m going to install the sup into another catalyst.

Why the catalyst could not  be managed by cisco works?

To be honest, I've never used Cisco Works as I never needed GUI version to configure and manage Cisco devices.

Sorry....
