I believe Symantec does allow downgrade rights but you will need to call their customer service to get a 2010 serial. Once you have that 2010 serial you can go to http://fileconnect.symantec.com and get the 2010 DVD.

Hi Diggisaur,

I got the 2010 installation DVD. The correct version is: Symantec Backup Exec 2010 with SP3.
The question is, can I use the license key - *.slf that I received from Symantec, and import it into this 2010 version?

No, the keys are specific to the version. You will need to call Symantec to get the downgrade key.
