Are you talking about OSX Fuse?? http://osxfuse.github.io/

This is an extension for OSX to allow you to read/write external drives formatted as NTFS and other file formats which are not supported by default in OSX.

Users with Windows-formatted drives and usb memory sticks use this to allow them to write files to these drives.

There will be no apps "depending on it" as it is a standalone system plugin but it can be useful ... why do you want to remove it?

Answers the question, but does provide as much detail as I'd like. But thank you.
