HTML5 canvas?  cross platform UI?  hmm....

Hi Experts,

I'm contemplating the meaning of life and at the same time wondering if there might be some UI construct library I can use for HTML5 canvas...  I started out really liking QtQuick2 for Qt mobile and had issues getting a software keyboard to popup.  Now I'm evaluating Xamarin and it looks great except for the total lack of UI support for cross platform..  This might be a good thing to some, but I can't help but think that i ought to be able to display lists and be able to click and drag images and rotate them with my finger, etc, all cross platform...  (and have virtual keyboards popup if I want them to)...

Can anyone point me towards a library that does this perhaps in HTML5 canvas to get that cross-platformness I want?

I should mention that if there's something purely Android specific that is the greatest thing since sliced bread, then I'd go for that too because I love android.

Thanks!
Mike

What do you mean? If you want something that is Android-specific, then obviously you wouldn't be cross-platform at that point. Can you clarify?

Yeah forget I said that.  I guess I'm thinking out loud too much.  I'm thinking if I can't find something to make me happy with what it brings me (in a hurry) - then I will forget about all the "noise" (the 1000 options for mobile UI) and just code to one platform natively.  I'm really hoping something sweeps me off my feet...

What kind of UI do I want?  One that can switch between a canvas where I can drag around shapes and another that shows lists of items drawn the way I like, etc...

If you don't need access to the hardware, then HTML5 could very well be a viable option. You might also look into PhoneGap, which I believe does give you (limited) access to the hardware.

Yep.  That's pretty cool.  And I found that JQuery with angular.js was interesting.

Thanks!
