SSO Options for MS Exchange on Private Cloud

We're looking to move some customers who have an on-premise Exchange server to our private cloud but before we can, we need to setup SSO.

What is the best means of performing SSO when it comes to Microsoft Exchange?

Active Directory Federation setup on the customer network that extends it to the hosted exchange environment.
