Detect if ActiveX control exist

I have a purchased application (website) that I want to redirect users too. There website requires an ActiveX control. How can I verify the user has this control installed before sending them to the website?

Basically you have to check if the user is using Internet Explorer, no other browser supports ActiveX other than IE

Sorry, the application only works with IE. We will only allow IE as the browser. I just want to check to see if the Active X is installed before redirecting them to the page.

is there a way to list all the ActiveX controls installed?

I dont think there is a way to get a list by using client script (through the web app).
but from the client machine you can use certain software
