How to temporarily disable McAFEE Total Protection software.

I have the software named above. I often need to, according to software manufacturers, disable the McAFEE. Is there an easy way to do this? In the past I have totally removed the software then reinstall when I was done. It seems like there must be an easier way. Is there?

1. Right-clicked the "M" icon in the system tray
2. Select "Change settings" in "Real-time scanning"
3. Click "Turn off" in the "Real-Time Scanning" window
