How to get contacts working in Outlook 2007

I have moved my Outlook 2007 to a new PC.  I am unable to get my contacts to display correctly.  I want them to display in Business Card or listing formats as I have been using for years.

I solved it.

Outlook File, Import Export wizard, Import from another porgram or file, Comma Separated Values (Windows), CSV to be imported.

I wonder why it didn't work before?

You are using your EMAIL view, and you can see the folders there. That means, those ARE NOT contacts. A contact folder should only be visible when you select the Folder List (middle icon of the lower left 3 icons). Real contacts have different icons.
Because you're using GMail through IMAP, contacts are not synched (as IMAP is a mail based protocol, not a calendar or contact based one).
If you want Exchange support for GMail (which DOES support contacts synch), it's only supported after you pay for the Google Business App subscription.
If you don't want to pay, then you have to manually synching contacts with your phone, and from the phone import it in your outlook (very time consuming)

I have had a Google Apps account since it was first available.  I see that now Google wants to charge new subscribers.

Outlook contacts has worked well during all this time on Win 7.  I am aware that IMAP is an mail based protocol.  However, the contacts in Outlook have changed, ie, the Contacts are now, not shown properly in Outlook 2007.

I already mentioned manually syncing,  which you just ignored. After you finally synch it yourself, it's suddenly the solution.
