Hi,
We have an SBS 2011 Server with one Fax Modem.
If we install 3 more modem and 3 more lines can we configure Fax server to route outgoing fax to different line depending the department?
I know about the incoming routing but what about the outgoing?
Thanks in advance!

I don't believe so, however I don't have 4 fax modems installed to verify
Now each fox modem is installed as a printer, so presumably when you setup the workstation, to only work with one "printer" (modem) and you'd just need to pick the correct one based on the department

...if you need more sophisticated options...GFI FaxMaker is your better solution.
Agreeing with Cris Hanna.  SBS Fax Service is a print queue like feature except the queue is "pooled" so that it uses the first available.  You CAN however, dedicate some lines for sending and some for receiving, admittedly not a lot of help in this situation.

Depending on the number of faxes sent and the cost such services you might consider one of the many Email to Fax, Fax to Email services where each department used a separate number or service.

Thank you both for your reply! I will try to separate (fax printer for each department) and if i have issues I'll take a look to gfi fax!
I have tried this, and for the features you want (and many others) GFI is the best solution. SBS fax is "just" useful for a basic solution.
Given MS are abandoning SBS you probably need to look at full feature software like GFI eventually anyway.

Hi wolfcamel,
The problem is that at this time my boss doesn't want to hear about extra costs!!! (GFI FAXmaker). That's why i'am trying to solve this bying only 3 fax modem. :-(
The good thing is that they don't need any sophisticated solution, so i'm thinking that they won't have any problems.
