Try to install VMPlayer on my Window 8 but it return with the follow message, I have tried both 4.0.6 & 6.0.

Any idea ?  Tks

Error 1406. Could not write value Descripition to key \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaResources\icm\VIDC.VMnc. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

This issue may occur if you do not have sufficient permissions to modify sections of the registry.

Locate the registry key, right click and set permissions for 'everyone' to full control.

Still have the problem,

You should check your system on malware or viruses. The Chinese characters should not be there.

Run a scan with MalwareBytes or something like that.

Fully scan my workstation and it seems fine.

My window is a Chinese Window 8. Tks

Try creating a new local administrator account. Login with the new credentials and try installing VM Player.
