SCCM 2012

Hello,

I'm working on Imaging a New Blade Model HP ProLiant WS460c Gen8 Graphics Server Blade. I have been having a time trying to get a Winpe network boot to work with it. As it stands now the network drivers provided on the HP site doesn't work. It pulls a client IP during the boot process tries to get into the task Seq but craps out on network settings. I have added the Network drivers provided by HP to the winpe boot several times and still the same deal. I have read several post on this same issue. The problem i have is the same as in this link...

High probability is that you're suffering from a driver needing an updated kernel framework.

If so, ignore the procedure given in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2494168

And use the procedure presented here
http://ajmckean.com/offline-servicing-dismwim-sccm-pxe-deployment/

Download the framework update from
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=38423
which version of winpe are you using?

These Blades don't have any OS installed on them.  I spoke with HP and they said the nic drivers they have on the site are the only ones available> I have injected them in the winpe boot and still when it gets to the Network Settings it craps out to blank screen then reboots.
using 4.0

but i have tried 3.0 and 3.1
Maybe i should say that they are installing win7 on these blades Servers if that makes a difference
Did you look at the SCCM log, or is it crapping out during the PXE boot but before the WIM load?

If it is during the network settings portion of the Win7 configuration, did you check to ensure the drivers do not need the newer version of the framework, which would need to be slipstreamed into the WIM?

This was the issue we had with Win7 and HP blades.
current image has Netframe 4.5
Not the dot Net framework - the kernel framework.

,On the screen or in the log, you receive the message “Windows could not configure one or more system components.  To install Windows, restart the computer and then restart the installation.” or similar message.

The reason for this is that the new hardware requires a later version of the Kernel Mode Driver Framework than is included with the Windows 7 install media.  The easiest fix for that is to download a copy of the updated Framework:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2494168

From there you can perform an offline servicing of the WIM image using the DISM command as outlined in this procedure

http://ajmckean.com/offline-servicing-dismwim-sccm-pxe-deployment/
testing the Net Framework in the Winpe i will let you know how it turns out. thanks
I have injected the Net Framework update into the winpe boot and still the same deal. Gets to configuring Network Setting and blank screen then reboots. I have attached the screen shot. I get no IP when i put in ipconfig. If anyone out there has a working winpe for the Blades can you send it over? thanks

you can open a command prompt at any time using shift-f10 and view the log files.  AFter you rebuild the boot.wim and install.wim do you also re-add them  into WDS/SCCM?
