We have an older Mac running OSX 10.4.11. From &nbsp;this mac, we are trying to access an SMB share. When we type in smb://&lt;ip address&gt;, we get an error saying &quot;the finder cannot complete the operation because some data cannot be read or written&quot;. the Share resides on a Windows 2008 server. I believe this mac was able to access this share in the past however. I haven't really found any concrete articles dealing with this issue with the exception of the following - however this has to do with copying files to a shares. I cannot even access the server without getting this error. <br />

Mac Cannot access Network Shares

Mac OS X is the desktop operating system from Apple Inc., found on Macintosh computers. OS X consists of a Mach/BSD-based kernel, operating system interfaces primarily based on FreeBSD and additional frameworks (written in C, C++ and Objective-C providing user interface and application-level services.
