There use to be and editor that you could have many lines of text and you were able to go any place in the center or any where else and high lite down thru the lines below and either delete that high lite area or move it to some were else with in the lines of text.

I hope I explained this were you can under stand what I mean.

Is there still an editor like this?

What you describe is a function very common in text editors on the mac.

If you select a text, few words or a few lines and just hold with your mouse or trackpad for a second the text gets loose and you can move it to another place inside your text where the cursor goes. This even works in Word and in InDesign.

For the mac my favorite is BBEdit but it has a free little brother called TextWrangler. The mac also has built in TextEdit.app which is pretty nice for basic text work. But there are many other possibilities. Just look for text editor free on any search engine.

Notepad ++ will not do this.
What I am looking for is and editor that if I want I could go into the center of the first line of texts and take the two words there and highlight and take it down to the next line and the two words under the first line highlight them and keep going down and doing the same on each line and be able to just move those words and nothing around them.
If you did this to 6 lines you would only have 12 words Highlighted and nothing in between this words would Highlighted.
I do not run a Mac I have windows 8
