Setting DS3300 up to use only 1 controller
I've hit another wall configuring this Storage Unit (1726-HC3, DS3300). At some point in its history it must have had 2 controllers in it but when it got to me it only had 1 ethernet controller. I am able to see the DS3300 in Storage Manager 10 but I have a lot of errors related to the missing controller (like missing battery controller B, missing controller, drive enclosure - loss of path redundantcy). The recovery Guru does not help me clear up these errors.
Basically I think the problem is that the DS3300 wants me to put the second controller back. But thats the problem - there is only one controller. My question is how do I set up the DS3300 to not look for that 2nd controller. I only want to use 1 controller. Is there a way to do this. Maybe a way to clear it so that it thinks that there was only 1 controller ever connected to it?
Any idea's or has anyone ever had this problem before. I need some expert advice (since I'm presently a novice at the moment).
Thanks for any and all suggestions,
stan

Thanks for your suggestions - they helped me to resolve the problem and I was finally able to configure the controller as a single controller (without asking for the controller in B anymore! What a relief!)
Here are the steps that I performed to change from a dual controller unit to a single;
Issued the following command from Storage Manager in the script editor;
set storagesubsystem redundancyMode=simplex;
set allLogicaldrives mirrorCacheEnabled=FALSE;
It was recommended that I flash nvsram to single controller nvsram:
But I was not able to download the firmware from the IBM site because I didn't have any entitlements (do you believe that!!!). IBM is really something else!
