Problems Deploying a Custom Power Plan via Group Policy Server 2012

Hello Experts

I've tried deploying a custom power plan to some Windows 7 computer using Group Policy / Server 2012 R2. Here is the walkthrough that I've used to get to this point:

http://garethhwilson.wordpress.com/2012/08/13/creating-and-deploying-a-custom-power-plan-for-windows-7-pcs/

The custom power plan is being deployed. However, the problem that I'm having is that the power scheme's GUID is not consistent throughout all of the workstations after deployment. So, after creating the power plan, and grabbing it's GUID, and configuring the Specify a Custom Active Power Plan GPO setting, it is working on the workstations that happened to get the same GUID for the custom power plan, but for the computers that assigned a different GUID, Power Management basically breaks.

At this point I've removed the Specify a Custom Active Power Plan GPO setting and am able to simply select the custom power plan manually on each machine. However, there is nothing keeping it from being changed.

Any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

Instead of using "CREATE" for the policy, use "UPDATE" instead.

Okay. Should I change it to "DELETE" and then force a gpupdate on all of the computers, and then change it to UPDATE?
No.  "UPDATE" will modify it appropriately.
