Can you attach hosted exchange accounts to existing server 2012 AD?
We have a client who is running a workgroup and using Microsoft Hosted Exchange mailboxes.
We are to deploy a Windows 2012 Essentials server domain and need to know if we create the users on the new server if we can then link them to the existing hosted exchange mailboxes or will it want to create the mailboxes itself?
As it stands the Users have been added to Active Directory but not yet created within Hosted Exchange. Primarily we always create the mailboxes from within 2012 Essentials.

You can create users without mailboxes, unfortunately your users are going to have two sets of credentials one for your domain and a second for the hosted exchange.
Some hosted exchange providers can sync with your AD, this would mean only one username and password so that would be worth checking with your provider.
