Can you recommend a network MP3 player that can be remote controlled from Android app.

Hi
I have an old (great quality) separates system that I want to connect to my home network to play MP3 files from my Windows 2011 Homeserver. Homeserver is running Windows media server so that part works (I play all sorts of content on my Samsung Smart TV, phone,  tablet and PCs).
Can someone recommend an inexpensive audio player (no need for video) that can be networked (wired is fine but have wireless too) that I can remote control from my Samsung S4 or Galaxy Tab2. This media player will not be plugged into a screen so I have to be able to control/stream to it remotely.

I considered buying a Sonos Connect to do this but at £279 is seems crazy expensive.
I also considered buying a Samsung BluRay Player (I can then use Allshare on my phone) but again they start at £100
I wondered if any of the Android based media players (about £35) could be remote controlled?
Failing all of that I could buy a really cheap Android phone but I'd need a SIM and having it plugged in all the time will probably kill it quickly.
Thanks

OK, thanks, I'm in the UK and I already have a PI in a case.
I use it as a cheap extra terminal for my home server via RDP.

In this instance I would want to run it headless and key boardless and mouseless.
Not sure if I can do that.
I will try it next week when I'm back home.
You would be using your Android phone as a remote control for the PI >Raspberry PI Media Center  Raspbmc  ;)

Thanks for the update CNC-Guy , since you are happy with play Audio To 2nd phone option please feel free to accept your comment as the solution so that others may benefit from it.
Sometimes our own unorthodox methods work the best. ;)
Good to see you found a solution

Merete's solution worked but was a little cumbersome.
My solution worked very well but I think it will only work on phones/ tablets with the "Play To" feature.
My phones and tablet are all Samsung so it was not an issue.
